In 2009, at the age of 13, the young violin prodigy Bilal Al Nemr left Damascus, Syria, to begin a multi-year exchange program at the Conservatoire d'Aix-en-Provence in France. Due to the civil war in his home country, he would never return to his native land.

Five years later, after having shared the stage with the likes of Renaud Capuçon and Hélène Grimaud, this rising star of the violin entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in 2015, won the Prix de violon Marc Bourgeois in 2016, and has recently joined the prestigious Daniel Barenboïm Academy in Berlin, Germany, where he currently resides.

A full-fledged concert soloist in his own right, Bilal Alnemr performs with major concert orchestras and in a duo with pianist Jorge González Buajasan.
